A group accumulates a lot of memories after 25 years of outdoor activity. We attempt to cover only a few of them here. More can be seen in Tom Elmquist's BJ Newsletter2000, to be released in limited publication on February 1, 2000.
The gang is not as crazy as we were a quarter-century ago, but we're a lot smarter. Our sleds run a lot more reliably, which is a blessing because our desire to crawl under cold machines in the dark during a snowstorm has greatly diminished. But our love of nature and our fellow man is as great as ever, and it sure is fun to get out into the fresh air and go like the wind again!!!
Cold can't stop us,(-25, 1995)
Nor can open water(Long Lake, 1976)
Not even machine failure (Pull 'er again, Coop!)
We go in the snow (1991-12" fresh per day)
And when there isn't any!(1981-Paul's Liquid Cat)
We're always race ready (Port Superior, 1987)
And we have the equipment!(Tom Orne's Helmet Cam)
We grow & primp our hair (Paul & Dave, 1980)
Even on our chins!(Bill, 1984)
We enjoy cigars (George, 1991)
And too much Hot Buttered Rum!(Keith, 1978)
We initiate rookies (Jeff, 1989)
And renew old friendships (John & Roy, 1992)
We have faithful sleds (Dave's TX, '78-'92)
And are equipped for all emergencies (Tom Orne's Mudslide' Blender)
