We Returned To Padre For Wonderful Fall Weather!!

After 3 years away from Padre exploring the Atlantic, Pacific and the Caribbean, we all ached for a return to the great wide sandy beaches of South Padre Island, where we had vacationed from 1982 to 2003. It was a wonderful welcome back, and the weather was extremely cooperative. We enjoyed sunny 80 degree weather every day.

We took a diversionary trip into Mexico at Progresso, but for the most part spent each day enjoying the beach and the pools. After exhausting ourselves surfing and swimming (for Tessa and Jordy, that took 5 days, for Grandpa 30 minutes), we took a trip north towards the Mansfield Channel in a dune-buggy.

The apartment we rented at the new Isola Bella was perfect for us, and brand-spanking new and shiny. We'd consider returning with the Pickerills now that Joe and Caroline are travel- ready!!
