The Beach and the Margaritas Dominate Again!!

We just got back from 2 great spring break visits to the island, one in February when John was off from Law School and one in March when Tessa was out of Kindergarten for her Spring Vacation.

We got a chance to do some relax in the first week, as John needed to unwind after 'L1', the grueling first semester of law school where they consume timid freshmen. His folks, Phil && Sally Pickerill from Austin were able to join us as we unwound.

We raised the pace in the second week, partially because that was also 'Texas Week' for College Spring Break 2000 (In 20 days of SB2000 there were 11,000 arrests in Cameron County, Texas…half of them for minor in possession and the other half for a full gamut of 'behavioral crimes'), but mainly because Jordy (alias Batman and Darth Maul) and Tessa (alias the Texas Mermaid) were directing the social calendar. Tessa built the biggest sandcastles on the beach that week and learned to swim (both in the gulf and in the pool). Jordy brought his full set of action characters to keep us on our toes, and he was quite interested in the 'parade' action among the pick-ups and 'low riders' along Padre Boulevard, each with a half dozen kids hanging out of or onto the vehicles.>
