    About Dave

He retired in June 1999 at age 56 from his latest position of Technical Director after 36 years at 3M Co. He enjoyed 12 different ‘careers’ while there and was at various times Engineering Director, Manufacturing Director and Technical Director. It must have been enjoyable because in 36 years he never took a sick day. He’s slowed a little in many years of retirement, but still managed to walk on the CinqueTerre and climb to St. Peter’s Duomo Cupola on their recent Italian Family Adventure 2010.

Believing that “The younger that you retire, the longer that you live”, Dave is hoping to remain young by occupying his body, mind and soul in a variety of re-vitalizing activities from woodwork, mechanics, software, publication, travel and learning from his Grandchildren. Even though he studied Electrical Engineering way back during the transition from Vacuum Tubes to Transistors, he still manages to maintain Professional Engineering Registration in 3 states (Wisconsin, Texas and Minnesota).

    [Trophy Walleye]

To rejuvinate his energy, he enjoys ‘fly-in’ Canadian fishing excursions. Here’s a photo of a trophy walleye (29 inch) caught in NW Ontario in June 2002.
