This was a lovely, wide, peaceful section of the river. For a while we thought we were Huck Finn on the Mississippi. Norma, Patty, Tom and Dave finished the Red Cedar River with a 2-mile section on then took a sharp right onto the spacious, wide and often shallow Chippewa. We hadn’t paddled for a full year and soon got back into shape the hard way. A few blisters and sore muscles were soothed by a lovely dinner at the ‘Harbor View’ Restaurant in Pepin. Then we lodged at the historic Harbor Hill Inn Bed & Brunch under Philip’s watch and tested his excellent culinary skills.
