One should judge the value of a Chevy Silverado based on its condition, not its age, because the model has remained hardly changed year-to-year. I bought this beauty new and ordered all of the Factory Options. See Equipment List and Window Sticker below. I’ve driven her only 117K miles, half that of a comparable 2004 truck that’s being advertised today. Being handicapped, I was unwilling to be compromised by a breakdown or accident, so I replaced everything if it showed signs of wearing. It’s obvious to me now that I overdid this maintenance, totaling up the $8,000 since 2014 that I’ve invested to make this truck renewed. You could pay $29 at Car Fax to see the 52 service calls (3 per year) that were performed over her lifetime, but you’d be better off to read my log book with every tank of gas, every work performed, etc. recorded chronologically to assure you that fluids and parts have been properly changed and maintained.

These items were Rebuilt between 2014 to 2021 to restore its reliability: 1) Brake Pads, Rotors, Calipers, Fluid Lines & Flush @ 110K miles 2) Shocks@ 109K mi. 3) Oxygen Sensor @107K mi. 4) Fuel Pump, Tank & Fuel Lines @ 117K mi. 5) Iridium Spark Plugs & Wires @99K mi. 6) Left Front Wheel Bearings @ 108K mi. 7) Battery (2017) @ 106K mi. 8) Alternator @ 100K mi. 9) Catalytic Converter @ 107K Mi. 10) Four Cooper Discovery P265/75 R16 Tires @ 108K mi.

I have every one these invoices for these improvements so that the buyer can return to the respective shop should anything occur and know what was done and why. Much of the maintenance was performed at Paramount Goodyear in Woodbury, MN.

As an example of how I might have overdone maintenance to ensure a well-maintained & safe automobile, here’s the history of her fuel system: During a routine under-chassis inspection at around 90,000 miles the mechanic pointed out a couple fuel lines that should be replaced for safety. In my zeal, I decided to use that opportunity to replace the fuel pump as well(overkill, I now realize). During that work I was later advised that the gas tank should be replaced as well. The tank was fine, but the connection fixture was questionable and it was integral with the tank. Last month, preparing to sell the vehicle, I proceeded to replace the remaining fuel lines as well. I should have invested this total of $4000 more wisely, I admit, but the car is safe and reliable because of this precaution.

As another example of forward-thinking with the future of this vehicle, here’s my decision on replacement tires: At 108,000 miles it was obvious that I should replace the front tires for safer driving. At Venburg Tire in Maplewood, my trusted friend Paul Bewick and I discussed the economics of a pair of economy tires for the front to get by OR to go for the long haul and put on a full set of the top of the line Cooper Truck Tires. I opted for the long term knowing full well that this truck is going to reach 250,000 miles eventually and these tires would serve her well at the front end of that duration.

All Fluids & Recommended Maintenance Performed On Schedule; Last Complete Drive Line Service (ALL Fluids) 3/2011 85K Mi.; Last Oil & Filter 6/2021 116K Mi.; Garaged Continually; Washed/Waxed Often; No Dings or Bumps.
